Unlike the structured school routine, children’s summer holidays rely on parents’ thoughtful arrangements to make the most of those fleeting golden opportunities for growth. Nan Fung Group understands exactly what families need. Starting this summer, AIRSIDE GATE33 Gallery – which has long been dedicated to curating interactive creative exhibitions – will launch Hong Kong’s first themed parent‑child art experience initiative, CREATIVE CHILDREN FESTIVAL 2026. Integrating three key growth elements – curiosity and imagination, emotional well‑being, and co‑creation through art – the festival elevates parent‑child activities to an entirely new level, bringing families an unprecedented summer experience.
The kick-off program of 2026 will be held from 14 August to 20 September during the summer holidays. Titled “The Little Creative Monster Inside You” – A Parent‑Child Sensory Exploration & Creation Exhibition, it is an immersive art exhibition designed specifically for children aged 3–12 and their parents, co‑created by curators, art therapists, and educators. It invites parents and children to step into the world of the “Little Monster” – using touch, hands, and imagination to create freely together, while also learning to recognise their own emotions and those of the people around them.
Led by the specially designed giant blue fuzzy monster “Little Me”, children and parents are invited to immerse themselves in 5 interactive zones, where hands‑on play offers a space for recognizing inner needs, embracing emotional shifts, caring for self and others, as well as channeling feelings into creative potential development with positive direction through the ups and downs of feelings.
Early Bird tickets will be available starting from 15 July at a special price of HK$60, which includes one weekday adult ticket and one child ticket. An Early Bird Package (including Exhibition and Bouncetopia tickets) will also be available. For details, please visit the Nan Fung NF Touch App (please refer to the table below for the ticketing link). Daily admission slots are limited and available on a first‑come, first‑served basis. Admission will be closed once the daily quota is reached.
Zone 1: "Come Brush the Little Monster" – Learning to Sort Out Emotions and Calm the Mind
The journey of self‑emotion awareness for parents and children officially begins with their first encounter with the emotional monster, “Little Me”. Upon entering, visitors will see the over‑2‑metre‑tall “Little Me” sitting quietly on the grass, waiting for everyone. Children can pick up various combs provided on‑site and brush “Little Me”’s fur, while also gently combing through their own emotional monsters. In this safe space, both young and old can lean against Little Me, stroke its fur – and according to psychologists, these simple actions are enough to naturally slow us down and bring a sense of calm. It turns out that everyone has their own unique way of sorting out their emotions! The oversized “Little Me” shows that emotional swelling is not something to fear; a warm, reassuring hug reminds us that every emotion comes from a tender heart.
Zone 2: "Create the Little Monster Inside You – Unlimited Creation, Celebrating Each Person's Uniqueness
At this second stop, irregularly shaped acrylic sheets in a variety of colors appear in unpredictable forms, guiding children to break free from the conventional norm of seeking a single "correct" answer. With boundless creative inspiration, they piece together a little monster that best represents their inner emotions, bravely expressing their own uniqueness while appreciating the differences in others. They come to understand the precious value of being one of a kind, while also learning to release unspoken emotional ups and downs through artistic creation. Parents, in turn, can observe the importance and inspiration of allowing children to freely express themselves in a safe space free from criticism or judgment, and recognize the necessity of creating such a safe space for their children to help regulate their emotional brain responses.
Zone 3: "Weaving Softness for the Little Monster" – Caring for Inner Emotions with Gentleness
Utilizing specially designed weaving tools created for the event by renowned local designer Alize Lam – tools that are easy for both children and adults to handle – visitors create the warmest, most comforting fabrics for the little monsters. Parents and children work together, embracing emotions with gentle warmth, while experiencing the soothing rhythm of steady, repetitive weaving motions. These actions not only help develop fine motor skills in little hands, but also gradually untangle inner feelings and restore a sense of calm.
Zone 4: "The Little Monster's Ideal Planet" – Learning to Collide and Interweave with Others' Emotions
Building blocks, clay, chenille wires, pom‑poms, cardboard, and crayons – these will be the materials for constructing a planet for the little monsters, extending from a single character to an entire monster universe! Both children and adults can unleash their creativity on the spot, adding various configurations to the blank planetary platform. Through co‑creation, they build the most ideal living space for their emotional monsters, learning how to express themselves while embracing others' opinions and creations, and forming a harmonious yet diverse, inclusive world. Under the watchful care of parents, children learn to navigate interactions, manage and accept their own and others' emotions, becoming bridges of sincere communication between people and building a better life together.
Zone 5: The Little Monster's Emotional Bathroom and "Emo House"
At this final stop, the interactive wall "The Little Monster's Emotional Bathroom" – co‑designed with an art therapist – features an interactive content and a reading corner, allowing children to engage with different emotions and feelings in a relaxed way, bringing a gentle and complete close to the monster‑nurturing journey. As the space and time where "Little Me" best calms the mind, the bathroom murals depict how it reacts to different emotional states, visualising emotions and making them easier to understand. "Little Me" also demonstrates ways to handle various emotions, and parents can learn alongside their children, regarding "Little Me" as a role model for coping with everyday emotional ups and downs.
Finally, at "Emo House", "Little Me" will be joined by a whole group of emotional friends – including Emo Jai, Scrambled Egg Nurse, Amygdala Knight, Steady Squad, and Mr. Plan B – to meet and take photos with families. These personified emotional traits symbolise the many emotional changes children will encounter as they grow, encouraging everyone to truly feel and embrace them.

Special Addition! STEAM Workshops: "Roman Catapult" and "Solar-Powered Car"
Running concurrently with "The Little Creative Monster Inside You" exhibition, GATE33 Gallery will also launch STEAM Workshops for primary school students aged 6 to 12, featuring two exciting themes: "Roman Catapult" and "Solar-Powered Car". In the Roman Catapult workshop, children will learn about the Lever Principle through exploring the medieval siege machine used to launch projectiles at fortifications. In the Solar-Powered Car workshop, they will assemble a wooden car powered by solar energy, gaining an understanding of different forms of energy and how energy conversion works. Workshop places are limited and will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission will be closed once the quota is reached.
